I visited Istanbul a few years ago and I was fascinated by the vibrance of this enormous city. And not only Istanbul is big. The whole country is fascinating<\/strong> and offers a lot to see.<\/span><\/p>\n

Its vibrant culture, stunning views and historical background attract tourists from all over the world. That\u2019s why I decided to put a list of the best places to visit in Turkey in 2018. <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

You will find all the wonderful must-sees as well as some not so obvious choices. Moreover, a trip to Turkey doesn\u2019t have to be expensive<\/a> to be rewarding. There are plenty of ways to enjoy the country on a budget. So enjoy!<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Istanbul<\/span><\/h2>\n

You cannot go to Turkey without seeing the beautiful city of Istanbul which lays on the Bosphorus Strait. There, it\u2019s recommended to take a cruise and enjoy the breathtaking views that the city offers.<\/span><\/p>\n

A walk through the Grand Bazaar<\/strong> is another must during your visit in Istanbul. Don\u2019t miss the chance to taste the local Turkish cuisine<\/strong> (and my personal favourite kunefe) and to feel the exotic atmosphere and culture of this city.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can find the most impressive historic sites of Istanbul in the Old City.<\/strong> Some of the most important are the church Hagia Sophia, which is also a museum, Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Ephesus<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n

Here is another suggestion, not so known as Istanbul, but not less beautiful<\/a>. It\u2019s an ancient site called Ephesus<\/strong> and definitely is one of the best places to visit in Turkey next year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ephesus is located in Aegean Turkey and it\u2019s known like the Europe\u2019s most complete, still-standing Roman city<\/strong> in the Medirerranean region. Its attractions include the magnificent Celsus Library<\/strong>, the Temple of Hadrian<\/strong> and the Great Theater<\/strong>, once capable of seating 25\u00a0000 spectators.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another fascinating place in Turkey to put on your bucket list is Nemrut Mountain.<\/strong> It is located in the Southeast part of the country. <\/span><\/p>\n

Nemrut is notable for the gigantic heads of statues<\/strong> that were erected here thousands of years ago. Mount Nemrut is part of UNESCO\u2019s World Heritage List.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Cappadocia is every photographer\u2019s dream<\/strong>\u00a0with its landscape and the surreal rock valley.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you are not into hiking, this is the top destination to take a hot air balloon<\/strong> and enjoy the magical scenario<\/strong> from the top. The balloons are the symbol of the region.<\/span><\/p>\n

6. Amasya<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you are looking for beautiful mountains villages surrounded by water and some oriental folklore, the small city of Amasya is the right place for you!<\/span><\/p>\n

This small city is definitely a hidden jewel in the crown of Turkey, it seems like it comes from a fairytale. Here is the place to mention that one of the most famous Turkish tales was set exactly here. And indeed, Amasya has a fairytale atmosphere.<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Pamukkale <\/span><\/h2>\n

The city of Mardin was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage <\/strong>Site<\/strong>, and is situated on a strategic hill overlooking the Mesopotamian plains and many historic buildings. Famous for its turquoise & aquamarine waters<\/strong>, Oludeniz<\/strong> is a great choice for a trip in Turkey this year. The beach resort can be found in Southwestern Turkey. Its name literally means \u201cdead sea\u201d because of the calm waters<\/strong> even during storms.<\/span><\/p>\n
