We stayed at &#8230; which we found on Booking.com a month before. It&#8217;s 40 min north of Quebec City and from our research, it looked like a great countryside spot with some hiking options around. There are many other affordable accommodation options in Quebec you can choose from. It was a pretty quick and straightforward process to rent a car. It is\u00a0one of the park\u2019s most popular hikes, known for its elevation gain and panoramic views. It\u2019s a well-marked path with sturdy wooden and stone steps where needed. You park at the <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/1MU9iccnTLeK34yG9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">main parking lot<\/a>, then take the <strong data-start=\"2222\" data-end=\"2243\">mandatory shuttle<\/strong> to the trailhead. The shuttle runs regularly, especially in summer. We reached the national park entrance exactly for the 8am shuttle and there were already 20 people in. The shuttle stops at a few trails so make sure to get off at the correct one \u2013 for the Acropole des Draveurs. It&#8217;s hard to miss it as most of the other hikers are heading that way too.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"831\"><strong>Park Rules and Hiking Details<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Acropole des Draveurs has set start and turnaround times for safety. From <strong data-start=\"245\" data-end=\"272\">August 1 to September 2<\/strong>, you must begin your hike before <strong data-start=\"306\" data-end=\"314\">2 pm<\/strong> and start your descent from Summit 3 no later than <strong data-start=\"366\" data-end=\"377\" data-is-only-node=\"\">4:30 pm \u2013 <\/strong>park wardens will close the trail after that. The hike gains <strong data-start=\"439\" data-end=\"461\">800 m of elevation<\/strong> over almost 12 km, with no drinkable water along the route, so bring at least <strong data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"558\">2 L per person<\/strong>. Even early in the day, it was warm, so we were glad we started before the sun was fully overhead. The Acropole des Draveurs starts climbing immediately \u2013 no gentle warm-up. The first section is steep, with a mix of dirt path, rocky steps, and wooden staircases. It\u2019s well maintained and easy to follow, but it\u2019s a workout from the first minute.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"959\">After about two hours, we reached <strong data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"593\">Summit 1<\/strong>. This is a natural stopping point for a quick break, with your first clear views of the surrounding mountains and the Malbaie River. From there, the trail continues uphill but at a more moderate grade. It\u2019s quicker but can be tough on the knees, so hiking poles are worth bringing if you have them.
